Make that three losses in a row. The Hoosiers fell today 6-1 against the Spartans as IU's offense was never able to generate enough hits. The lineup managed one run on just six hits.

Trying to find a spark for his lineup, IU coach Tracy Smith inserted sophomore pitcher Tyler Tufts onto his scorecard, giving Tufts the start in left field. Hitting out of the nine spot, Tufts went two-for-three with a walk and a run scored.

Junior starter Doug Fleenor threw seven innings, allowing six runs, only two of them earned, and eight hits while striking out six batters.
