Well, the weather was really nice, but that may have been the bright spot for the Hoosiers and their fans today.
IU fell 9-7 to Indiana State today over at Sembower in ten innings. Up 7-6 in the top of the ninth, the Hoosiers gave up a run on a wild pitch that tied things up.
In its half of the inning, IU threatened with runners on first and third, but freshman left fielder Sterling Mack got caught between first and second base that ended the inning.
IU coach Tracy Smith said after the game that it was a set-play designed to bring home pinch runner David Trager from third while Mack intentionally got himself into a rundown.
The Sycamores promptly scored twice in the top of the tenth and put the Hoosiers down 1-2-3 in the bottom half of the inning. The loss dropped IU's record to 14-18.
