You may or may not know, but Coach Sampson is a pretty big baseball fan. Here's some of his thoughts on tonight's NLCS game between the Mets and Cardinals that he dished to us at Assembly Hall this afternoon:

I don't think (Cardinals pitcher Jeff ) Suppan can do tonight what he did Monday. I think (Mets pitcher Oliver) Perez is hit or miss. I think he's got filthy stuff, but I dunno. The only thing I like for the Mets though, I think their most valuable player is (Paul) LoDuca. I think he's tough. Look at what he does. I think it's kind of like Earl (Calloway).....for us, I don't think he's their best player, I think LoDuca there is their most valuable player. With the Cardinals, hard to say with them, they're just professionals. They are professional baseball players. From Rolen to (Albert) Pujols...Rolen, you know he's just a pro. It's a shame that somebody has to lose that series. Both of those teams really deserve to go to a World Series.

Sampson later added that he's always been an Atlanta Braves fans especially during the years when Steve Avery, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz anchored the pitching mound.
