Indiana University Dance Marathon to Take Place November 6

On November 6, thousands of IU students are making their way to the Tennis Center to raise money and show their support for Riley Hospital for Children at the 2026 Indiana University Dance Marathon. The Marathon is a 36-hour event that brings together the 18 different committees that make up the internal organization, as well as external teams made up of fraternities, sororities, and other student organizations. These participants come together through standing and staying awake, activities, fundraising, and sharing stories that remind everyone of the impact their efforts can have on children and their families.

Despite the excitement surrounding the upcoming Marathon, IUDM is much more than a single event in the year. It is a year-long mission that unites a community of IU students dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and their families affected by pediatric illness. IUDM is the largest student organization at Indiana University and the second largest student-run philanthropic organization in the nation.

This community has raised more than $59 million to support pediatric healthcare. Last year alone, the organization raised over 3.1 million for Riley Hospital for Children, demonstrating the incredible impact IU students can have when they work together toward a common goal.

Since our organization began in 1991, we have honored Ryan White’s incredible legacy by funding the Ryan White Center for Infectious Disease at Riley Hospital. Today, 25% of donations go towards clinical expenses and 75% of donations support pediatric health research at Riley's Wells Center for Pediatric Research.

IUDM represents the strength of the IU community and its commitment to creating meaningful change. The impact of IUDM continues long after the Marathon ends, leaving a lasting legacy of hope, compassion, and support for pediatric healthcare.
