The following is a press release written by Desiree DeMolina for the City of Bloomington.

The City of Bloomington Animal Shelter is hosting a special community fundraiser to support the needs of animals housed at the shelter. The “Double the Love” campaign will run from Tuesday, Sept. 1 to Monday, Sept. 21 and will support the shelter’s medical fund, which helps provide animals with emergency surgeries, medical treatments and other essential care. This fundraiser is a matching campaign, meaning every dollar contributed will be matched up to $20,000, doubling the impact of each donation.

“Our community has a remarkable chance to directly improve the lives of animals,” said Virgil Sauder, Director of the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter. “As our shelter faces the ever-present need for sheltering animals in medical crisis, our resources are stretched thin, this fundraiser is more important than ever.”
