The following is a press release written by Danny Gutierrez for the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
The Buskirk-Chumley Theater is proud to host Stand Up for Habitat, a night of comedy in support of Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, on Saturday, November 22 at 7:30 PM. The event will feature acclaimed comedians Daniel Van Kirk and Evan Hull for an evening of laughter that benefits a cause close to home.
Daniel Van Kirk—named a Comedy Central Comic to Watch—is a nationally recognized comedian, writer, and actor known for his stand-up special Rose Gold and as co-host of the hit podcasts Dumb People Town (with the Sklar Brothers) and Pen Pals (with Rory Scovel). His quick wit, Midwestern charm, and ability to find humor in the human experience have made him a favorite among audiences nationwide.
Joining him is Evan Hull, a Chicago-based stand-up comedian celebrated for his sharp storytelling and offbeat humor. A regular at comedy clubs across the Midwest, Hull’s relatable and hilarious takes on everyday life have earned him a loyal following on stage and online.
Stand Up for Habitat is more than a comedy show—it’s a night that builds community. All proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, supporting their mission to help families build and improve safe, affordable housing right here in Bloomington.
“Laughter and community go hand-in-hand,” said a spokesperson for the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. “We’re thrilled to host an event that not only entertains but also uplifts the incredible work Habitat for Humanity does in our city.”
Tickets for Stand Up for Habitat are available now through the Buskirk-Chumley Theater box office and online at buskirkchumley.org.
