The weather is getting colder, but live music continues in Bloomington. Escape from the windy weather with these indoor concerts and musical events.
Monday
The Buskirk-Chumley Theater will host Jazz @ the BCT with Tom Walsh, a professor of saxophone music and the chair of the department of jazz studies at the Jacobs School of Music. The free event is from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Tuesday
Saxophonist Caroline Davis will perform her project “Portals” at Ford-Crawford Hall from 8:30-10 p.m. The free performance is an immersive experience that draws inspiration from the ideas of mourning and ancestral communications. She will be accompanied by pianist Julian Shore, bassist Chris Tordini and drummer Timothy Angulo — who all have a background in jazz.
Wednesday
Congress The Band, an indie-rock group from Charleston, South Carolina, will play a mix of original songs and covers at The Bluebird. The 21-plus show starts at 10 p.m. and tickets costs $14.25.
Thursday
Country musician John Morgan will play at The Bluebird at 8 p.m. Tickets for the 21-plus show will cost $20.72, and the artist will play a mix of original songs and country covers.
Friday
Texas-born country musician Tanner Usrey will play at The Bluebird. The 21-plus show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $30.05. The show will include original country music from his most recent album “These Days” as part of his “Bad Love” tour.
Jacobs Live at the Movies will present “The Wizard of Oz" at 7:30 p.m at the IU Auditorium. Tickets will cost anywhere from $20 to $59 depending on the seating location. The film will be shown on the big screen while the IU Symphony Orchestra plays the music of the film.
Saturday
Jacobs Live at the Movies will return with another showing of “The Wizard of Oz” at 2 p.m.
Country music at The Bluebird continues with IU alumnus and musician Hank Ruff. His show will start at 9 p.m. for ages 21 and up with tickets costing $14.25.
Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band will play blues music at The Buskirk-Chumley Theater starting at 7 p.m. Ticket are available at a range of $30.02 to $36.17 depending on seat selection.
