Indiana football sixth-year senior safety Louis Moore and the NCAA have reached a temporary agreement in which the NCAA “agrees to take no action with respect to Plaintiff’s [Moore’s] eligibility” through Sept. 24. The agreement will allow Moore to play in Indiana’s next two games against Indiana State University and Illinois.
Following a special court appearance by NCAA attorney Taylor Askew, the issue of personal jurisdiction has been a primary focus of the case. The Aug. 27 hearing was largely spent hearing arguments on the NCAA’s motion to dismiss based on whether the Dallas court has personal jurisdiction over the NCAA, which is headquartered in Indianapolis.
A hearing was set for Sept. 10 after Judge Dale Tillery extended Moore’s temporary restraining order to allow for discovery to take place at the request of Moore’s attorney Brian P. Lauten. Lauten requested documents regarding the NCAA’s business in Texas. However, the scope of discovery was later severely limited.
The parties have agreed to move the Sept. 10 hearing so that “the hearing on the Application for Temporary Injunction and Special Appearance will occur at the same date and time... before September 24, 2025.”
