The following is a press release written Michelle Moss for the City of Bloomington Volunteer Network.
MALL (Mobility Aids Lending Library)
The Mobility Aids Lending Library (MALL) is an initiative started by a local group of women with physical disabilities (aka “the Wheelie Women”) to serve the greater Bloomington community. Thanks to the support of community members who have donated devices, the MALL has outgrown its rented storage room. Due to limited space, they often have to turn down larger items such as Hoyer lifts and hospital beds, and can only accept a few power wheelchairs and mobility scooters at a time. MALL is seeking a donated or low-cost office space that is at least 800 ft.² to accommodate equipment storage and a small office/client meeting area. They prefer a space on the first floor with no elevator required for access and space in a building with a parking lot or ample street parking nearby. If you have a suggestion for such a space, for funding/sponsorship for their future growth, or if you would like to get involved, please contact them.
