Indiana men’s basketball recruiting target Jalen Haralson, the highest-rated high school player in Indiana for the class of 2025, won’t be heading to Bloomington for the 2025-26 season.

Haralson, a 5-star recruit who’s ranked as a top 15 player in his class by both 247Sports and ESPN, committed to the University of Notre Dame on Wednesday, he announced on a 247Sports live show. Haralson also considered Michigan State.

Indiana offered a scholarship to the 6-foot-7, 210-pound Haralson in October 2021 and prioritized the Fishers, Indiana, native in the years that followed. Haralson last visited Bloomington for the Hoosiers’ season-opening football game Aug. 29 against Florida International University.

Haralson, who attends in-state preparatory power La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, would have been Indiana’s second-highest ranked recruit of head coach Mike Woodson’s four-season tenure, trailing only forward Mackenzie Mgbako, according to 247Sports.

So far, the Hoosiers’ 2025 recruiting class consists only of 4-star forward Trent Sisley, who committed to Indiana on Monday. Woodson and his staff still have seven scholarships available for the 2025-26 season.
