PRESS RELEASE: MEDIA ADVISORY: The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce’s Elect Connect

The following is a press release by Kaytee Lorentzen for Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. 

Bloomington, Ind. – March 28, 2024 – On Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its Elect Connect event.

What: Engagement with local election candidates and staying informed during election cycles is pivotal to the health of our business community. The Chamber's Elect Connect events are unique platforms that bring Bloomington and Monroe County election candidates into thoughtful dialogues with our local businesses.

Elect Connect provides the opportunity to engage with elected officials on a variety of topics of importance to local business.  These can include affordable housing, infrastructure and roads, zoning, business development and the future of Bloomington and Monroe County.

Who: The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce will be hosting candidates for the contested races. Invited to attend include:

  • Matt Caldie (D), County Council at large candidate
  • Trent Deckard (D), County Council at large candidate
  • Penny Githens (D), County Commissioner District 3 candidate
  • David Henry (D), County Council at large candidate
  • Peter Iversen (D), County Commissioner District 2 candidate
  • Jody Madeira (D), County Commissioner District 3 candidate
  • Cheryl Munson (D), County Council at large candidate
  • Julie Thomas (D), County Commissioner District 2 candidate
  • Joe VanDeventer (R), County Commissioner District 3 candidate
  • Steve Volan (D), County Commissioner District 3 candidate
  • Paul White Sr. (R), County Commissioner District 3 candidate

When: Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 | 5:00pm-7:00pm
