The Indiana Daily Student and Arbutus Yearbook recently won multiple awards at a pair of national conventions: The Fall National College Media Convention, which was held Oct. 29-Nov. 2 in Atlanta, and the College Media Business & Advertising Managers Convention, which took place Oct. 12-14 in Minneapolis.
The IDS was named the Weekly Newspaper of the Year and placed second in the category of Best College Media Group of the Year as part of the College Media Association Pinnacle Awards, which were handed out in Atlanta.
In all, the IDS and Arbutus Yearbook received 30 awards and recognitions across the two conventions.
“These awards are a testament to the IDS’s journalistic excellence and the incredible journalists on staff,” said Salomé Cloteaux, the IDS’s editor-in-chief. “There aren’t enough words to describe how proud I am of the staff and their commendable work. It is so inspiring to be around these talented people who go above and beyond every day and continue the organization’s long tradition serving the community.”
