Indiana softball gathers together during a timeout March 28, 2023, at Andy Mohr Field. Indiana's game against Ohio State has been postponed due to lightning.

With inclement weather forcing a postponement, Indiana softball had to rearrange its weekend series against Ohio State for the second time. Friday’s contest, bumped up by two hours in the hopes of avoiding inclement weather, was suspended in the bottom of the third inning with Indiana winning 5-4.

Team 50 was in the middle of a five-run inning after trailing 4-0 entering the bottom of the third. Team 50 had a runner on third with two outs and junior shortstop Brooke Benson at the plate, with the count at three balls and one strike.

The game was paused after about an hour of play due to lightning within a 10-mile radius and was eventually postponed after both teams agreed to resume the game at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday’s game, originally scheduled to start at 2 p.m., has now been rescheduled and will be a part of a Sunday doubleheader to complete the three-game set. Game one is scheduled for noon, with the second game commencing 30 minutes after the prior game finishes.
