Hot air balloon crashes near Upland Brewery causing temporary power outages

A hot air balloon crashed into power lines near Upland Brewery around 5 p.m. Thursday, seemingly causing temporary power outages.  

According to Duke Energy’s outage map, over 1,000 customers were temporarily without power, but it has now been restored.  

No injuries were reported, a fireman at the scene said.  

The crash also stopped power to the traffic light at the intersection of 11th Street and College Avenue.
