The Big Ten announced changes to the 2022 football schedule for all member schools to accommodate for the unprecedented 2020 season, according to a press release Wednesday. As a result, Indiana football’s 2022 season schedule has been revised.
Indiana had previously been scheduled to play Northwestern, but will now face Illinois in its season opener on Sept. 3 in Bloomington. Illinois is the only team in the revised schedule which Indiana wasn’t previously scheduled to play.
The remainder of the revisions are date swaps of teams Indiana had already been scheduled to play. Indiana will now play Michigan on Oct. 8 in Bloomington instead of Maryland and Ohio State on Nov. 12 in Columbus, Ohio, instead of Michigan.
The new date for Indiana’s game with Maryland, Oct. 15, was originally a bye week for Indiana. Indiana’s new bye will take place Oct. 29.
