One year after Indiana broke a decades-long losing streak against Michigan, it lost  29-7 to the No. 7 ranked Wolverines Saturday night in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Indiana fell to 2-7 this season with the loss.

From start to finish, the Wolverines were in control of the game. They scored on three of their first four possessions, opening up an early 17-7 lead. Indiana’s lone scoring drive of the night was highlighted by a 24-yard rush from freshman quarterback Donaven McCulley and a one-yard touchdown from junior running back Chris Childers.

McCulley was the team’s leading passer and rusher in his second collegiate start, completing 10 of 24 passes for 88 yards and rushing for 37 yards on 14 attempts. The Wolverines outgained the Hoosiers in yards 411-195.

With the loss being their seventh of the season, the team will officially miss out on postseason play for the first time since 2018.

Indiana will host Rutgers next Saturday in Bloomington. Rutgers lost 52-3 to Wisconsin today and is 4-5 this season.
