Rowers prepare to compete in the eleventh annual Dale England Cup against the University of Notre Dame and Michigan State on April 20, 2019, at Dale Rowing Center on Lake Lemon. IU will compete in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday.

IU women’s rowing will see competition from the Big Ten along with Oregon State University when it competes in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday.

IU, No. 6 Ohio State, No. 15 Iowa, No. 7 Michigan, Michigan State and Oregon State will all compete at the Griggs Reservoir in Columbus. Oregon State received 40 votes in the most recent Pocock/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association poll.

“I’m super excited to see some Big Ten schools knowing that we’re in a fast conference,” graduate student Abigail Bogovich said before the event.

The first wave of races is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m, with the second following at 1 p.m.

Fans are discouraged from attending the event because of COVID-19 concerns, according to the Ohio State Athletics website, though the event will be livestreamed on the Ohio State rowing Instagram account.

“We know where we sit against some of these other teams, like now let’s go,” junior Drew Harris said.
