IU senior Tyler Combs will appear on "Jeopardy!" 2020 College Championship at 7:30 p.m. Friday on NBC (WTHR). The winner out of 15 U.S. college students will receive $100,000.
Combs will compete against Liberty University junior Natalie Hathcote and University of Minnesota sophomore Nibir Sarma. Winners of the quarterfinal round and the four highest-scoring wild-card contestants will move on to the semifinal.
The championship started April 6 and will end April 17. Combs is in the fifth of five match ups in the quarterfinal.
This is a 10-game tournament, and next week the semi finalists will compete in five more games. The winner will receive an invitation to participate in the Tournament of Champions, which features the winningest contestants from the past "Jeopardy!" season and the winner of the Teachers Tournament.
Combs is from Greenfield, Indiana. He studies political science and is the president of the Civil Society at IU.
