An unknown man stole a tailgate off a pickup truck early Monday morning from the Royal South Toyota parking lot at 3115 S. Walnut St.
Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo said security footage showed a man wearing a mask entered the parking lot on foot around 4 a.m. Monday from across the street. The man approached a green Toyota Tacoma and removed the truck’s tailgate.
The man then walked back across the street with the tailgate and put it in a vehicle before driving off. Police could not determine what kind of vehicle it was due to the poor quality of the security footage, Pedigo said.
Royal South Toyota reported the theft around 11:30 a.m. The tailgate is valued at around $4,000.
