Delivery driver allegedly robbed, armed bystander gets money returned

A Domino’s Pizza delivery driver reported being robbed Tuesday while making a delivery on the 1600 block of South Renwick Boulevard, Bloomington Police Department Lt. John Kovach said.

A black Honda pulled up to the delivery driver's car, the driver told police. A man with a baseball bat got out and demanded money.

The delivery driver then told the man with the baseball bat the wallet was in the car. The man with the baseball bat went in and stole $40 cash, police said.

A 23-year-old witness told police he saw what was happening and came over with a firearm, telling the man with the baseball bat to give the money back, which he did before leaving.

The delivery driver told police he didn’t want to pursue charges.
