Holcomb addresses workforce development, opioid crisis at annual State of the State

In his annual State of the State address, Gov. Eric Holcomb focused on workforce development as a key pillar of his administration. He also discussed strengthening K-12 STEM curricula, fighting the opioid epidemic, some of the controversy swirling around the Department of Child Services and the recent departure of the former director there. Men's basketball finds new identity in win against Penn State

Led by Juwan Morgan’s 21 points and 11 rebounds, it was the first time IU had five different scorers in double digits. Even though IU didn’t shoot the ball well, the Hoosiers moved to 3-2 in the Big Ten. Read more here.

A government shutdown looms as Democrats and Republicans negotiate a compromise on immigration reform and funding for a border wall. One major bargaining chip on the table in these debates is a legislative fix for DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, and the “DREAMers.” Read more here.

IU’s Movie Image Archive’s new collection of 80,000 to 100,000 commercials includes processed meats, a man with a pet bear and a mechanical person. The commercials, along with new cameras and projectors, are treasure troves of information for scholars and researchers. Read more here.
