These places in Bloomington are offering Thanksgiving meals for homeless or low-income people

Shalom Community Center, located on Walnut Street, provides resources for people experiencing homelessness and poverty. 

Bloomington has at least four community centers serving Thanksgiving meals for homeless or low-income people Nov. 23., according to connect2help211.org's database. Check out this list for times, specifics and locations. 

  • Community Kitchen of Monroe County- The kitchen will offer a traditional holiday meal for carry-out as well as bags of groceries. It is open Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. and has locations at 1100 W. 11th St. and 1515 S. Rogers St. 
  • Shalom Community Center- The center will serve sit-down meals on Thanksgiving. It is open from 8 a.m. to noon and located at 620 S. Walnut St. 
  • Wheeler Mission Ministries- This location will have a sit-down Thanksgiving meal. It is open noon to 1 p.m. and located at 215 Westplex Ave.
