The Bloomington Police Department is searching for a tall, heavy-set male after an IU student reported an attempted armed robbery took place early Sunday morning.
The reported crime took place in the 400 block of North Fess Avenue at approximately 4:05 a.m. The student told police he was approached by the male, who was armed with a silver and black handgun, and ordered to hand over his possessions.
The suspect fled on foot after the student said he had no items of value. The student was not harmed.
IU students were notified of the report just before 6 p.m. Sunday through the IU-Notify system.
