Darryl Neher has entered the 2015 mayoral race in Bloomington.
Neher announced his candidacy Thursday evening around 5 p.m. His announcement took place in the Buskirk-Chumley Theater and was organized as a “political announcement.”
Neher stepped down from his Presidency of the Bloomington City Council last night, and was replaced by Dave Rollo. He is a senior lecturer in the Kelley School of Business and teaches three sections of honors Business Communications.
He is the second Democrat to file candidacy for mayor, followed by John Hamilton last week. Hamilton ran against Mayor Mark Kruzan in the 2011 primary, winning only 40 percent of the votes.
Local government reporter Neal Earley will deliver the full story shortly.
