Kruzan names Doris Sims HR director

Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan has named Doris Sims director of the City’s Human Resources Department, effective in 2014.

Sims was previously assistant director and director of the department, formerly known as the Personnel Department, from 1986 to 1996, according to a press release from the City of Bloomington.

Sims replaces Daniel Grundmann, who is leaving for a faculty lecturer position at IU’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Assistant Director Ginger Thomas will be interim director until the beginning of 2014.

“It’s great to be able to turn to a person who has worked in a number of capacities as a city employee to now head up the one department that serves every employee,” Kruzan said.

Sims is the current assistant director of the City’s Housing And Neighborhood Development Department.
