White joins IU water polo as assistant

Zach White is the new assistant coach for the IU polo team, according to a press release issued Tuesday.

White, a former national champion and All-American at Cal, joins IU Coach Barry King's staff in his first college job after previously coaching in high school.

"We are excited to have Zach join us in our quest for championships," King said. "Zach had a stellar playing career at Cal and that experience will serve the program well in his work with our student-athletes, especially our centers and defenders. He is on his way to a very long, successful and rewarding career as a coach. We are very fortunate to have him join our program."

White also has experience coaching at the club level and playing experience on the US men's national team.

"I have been given a great opportunity by Coach King and Indiana University," White said. "IU Water Polo has had great success in the recent years, and I look forward to building upon that success while and working with Coach King and the IU community. I come from a program rich in tradition and championships, and I am excited to bring that championship experience to IU and help the program excel even further in the coming years."
