Jessica Jackley, the co-founder of Kiva, will speak about her career path and the experiences that encouraged her to start Kiva, one of the world’s most successful networks for connecting microfinance institutions and lenders.
“A Columnist with an Edge”

Indianapolis Star columnist Erika Smith will be bringing her outlook about urban affairs, entertainment and technology to discuss at SPEA. She writes about diversity, neighborhood redevelopment and mass transit.

Wednesday
Japanese Conversation Club
Read Center Clark Lounge, 5:30-7 p.m.
This meeting is for those who want practice in conversational Japanese. Open to all levels, including those who are Japanese native speakers and want a chance to learn English while teaching others.

Thursday
IU Student Association Debate
Fine Arts 015, 6-8 p.m.
The current IUSA administration will have a debate between all three executive tickets.

Friday
Calligraphy Lessons
Asian Culture Center, 5-6:30 p.m.
Learn and practice the ancient art of East Asian Calligraphy. Informal class also meets every Tuesday to practice.
