The men of Theta Chi were truly saddened and disturbed when news of the graffiti incident was released to the public.
The article did bring up some issues that need to be addressed.
With that said, know we as a community have certainly not forgotten about the occurrence nor the effect it left on our campus and the LGBT community.
We are accepting of everyone, and although we cannot reverse the action that occurred, we ask that you do not let the immaturity of a small group of individuals reflect the greek community’s values as a united body.
We do our best to integrate ourselves within the campus, constantly seek new members of all races, sexualities and so forth.
Each house puts on at least one large philanthropic event throughout the year to support diseases, disabilities and other good causes.
Particularly addressing AIDS, our community as a whole has strong involvement in IUDM, an event/fundraiser inspired by AIDS victim Ryan White.
Moving forward, we are doing our best to create some sort of positive action to display our true values and our consolation to the LGBT community, the campus and those who have AIDS.
In the meantime, we can only ask that you do not let this action define who we are and what we stand for.
