Bloomington Police are investigating a reported rape that reportedly occurred in broad daylight Dec. 17.
Just after 3 p.m. Dec. 17, a 30-year-old woman was walking east in the 300 block of East First Street when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see a 40-year-old man whom she recognized as an acquaintance, Bloomington Police Department Detective Sgt. John Kovach said.
The man reportedly punched the woman in the face and she fell to the ground, unconscious. When she awoke, the man was on top of her having non-consensual sexual intercourse, Kovach said.
The woman reportedly lost consciousness once again. When she woke up the second time, the man was standing over her and threatened physical harm to her if she reported the rape.
The suspect has yet to be located, Kovach said. The woman reported the rape Dec. 20.
