Event planners to discuss career paths, networking

Professionals in event planning and promotions roles will assist students with their career paths during the Event Planning and Promotions Networking Night  from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Wednesday at DeVault Alumni Center.

The event is one of many networking nights organized by the Career Development Center  and IU Student Alumni Association.

It is also presented in conjunction with the School of Public Health.

“The purpose of our networking nights series, in general, is to allow students to refine their networking skills as well as learn about their fields of interest,” Elizabeth Hollon, intern for the Career Development Center,  said in an email.

Guest speakers, who will represent companies such as Pacers Entertainment, Oliver Winery  and Red Frog Events, will discuss their career paths as part of a panel and offer advice to students seeking careers in the event planning industry, according to the IU events calendar.

IUCDC and IUSAA  officials ask that students RSVP for the event using their myIUcareers accounts, which can be found at iucareers.com.
