Hurricane Isaac reached the Gulf Coast on the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
In response, officials of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., bumped convention happenings back a day.
As part of today’s theme, “We can change it,” the following individuals will be key speakers:
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will call the convention to order at 7 p.m.
A video appearance with Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, will precede remarks by Sen. Mitch McConnel, R-Ky.
After a performance by country musician Beau Davidson and remarks by Iraq veteran Jeanine McDonnel and Para-Olympian Chris Devon Young, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., will speak.
Later in the evening, a video featuring former President George W. Bush will be presented to convention attendees.
Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., will speak after Bush’s video presentation, followed by remarks from former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Republican Paul Ryan, vice presidential candidate, will speak, followed by a video from his family.
