IU received about $350 million from private donations, grants and gifts during the 2012 fiscal year, according to a press release.
This is the second highest in the history of IU.
The amount included gifts from various organizations, including $154 million in gifts from IU Foundation.
The 2012 total is about $50 million less than the all-time record, set during the 2008 fiscal year.
Total voluntary support for 2012, the release said, increased 18 percent from the previous fiscal year, and nongovernment grants for IU research increased by 33 percent.
“We deeply appreciate the steadfast commitment of donors and grant makers who have clearly demonstrated their confidence in Indiana University through their generosity,” IU President Michael McRobbie said in the press release.
