BPD investigates nude photograph of Bloomington minor posted on Facebook

The Bloomington Police Department received a complaint at about 10 p.m. Wednesday that a Facebook page was created to display a nude photograph of a 14-year-old
Bloomington girl.

The victim admitted to sending a nude photograph of herself via text message between April 16 and 20 to a 14-year-old boy, her then-boyfriend, BPD Detective Sergeant John Kovach said.

On Wednesday, Kovach said the victim’s brother was approached by some friends, who informed him that someone had created a Facebook page to display the nude photograph. After receiving the complaint, police responded to the victim’s home in the southeast part of town.

Kovach said the page containing the photograph has since been deleted, likely by Facebook for the nature of the material displayed.

The case is still under investigation.
