Dennisha Hicks was arrested last week for violating a restraining order
keeping her from Howard Davis. That arrest was not enough to keep her
away, however.
Howard and Whitley Edwards were driving to the Bloomington Housing
Authority on North Summit Street when Davis began following in a car,
Lt. Bill Parker of the Bloomington Police Department said. When the
three reached the building, they exited their vehicles, and Hicks
allegedly attacked.
Several witnesses intervened, pulling Hicks off Davis, Parker said. They pinned her down, and one witness called police.
When
Hicks heard the sirens, witnesses said she suddenly broke away from the
people keeping her on the ground, Parker said. She fled to her van,
brushing against but not injuring two people with the vehicle as she
drove away.
Police found Hicks on West 13th Street. She was arrested for simple
battery for attacking Edwards, domestic battery of Davis, criminal
recklessness, intimidation, invasion of privacy and driving while
suspended.
