Two students assaulted outside Sigma Pi house

A 19-year-old working security for Sigma Pi fraternity early Sunday and another 19-year-old student were struck by unidentified men described as college-age, IU Police Chief Keith Cash said.

The victim working security told campus police he was urging people to wait for drivers to pick them up from the house.

Suddenly, two men struck him, he said. The man working security said the other 19-year-old tried to assist him and was also struck.

Cash described the injuries from the attack as minor, and the victims declined medical treatment.

Police were told the men had left Sigma Pi in a white and silver mid-size Ford Sedan with Indiana license plates. Cash said police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Anyone with information on the battery is encouraged to call the IU Police Department at 812-855-4111.
