Drunk driver puts pedestrian in critical condition

A pedestrian, 21, walking at 2:45 a.m. Thursday was struck by a white Hyundai near the State Road 46 bypass, Lt. Bill Parker of the Bloomington Police Department said.

The driver of the Hyundai, Han Do Park, 24, was over the legal intoxication limit when police tested him, Parker said.

The pedestrian was in critical condition following the accident, though Parker said specific injuries weren't available. He was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Park was arrested for C felony operating while under the influence resulting in serious injury.
