The father of a 7-year-old boy called Bloomington police at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday from IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Lt. Bill Parker of the Bloomington Police Department said the father and mother of the boy met at a public place for a custody exchange. The mother allegedly told the father that her boyfriend had struck the child, Parker said.
The father checked the boy and allegedly found bruises on his body. He took the boy to the hospital.
Detective Chris Ryan responded to the call and interviewed the father. No arrests have been made, but Parker said Ryan will continue the investigation.
