Police responded to a call at about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of West 13th Street that a man had attempted to strangle his wife.
The names of the man and wife have not been released by police.
Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Steve Kellams said the man, 27, and his wife, 22, allegedly argued about the man’s glasses, which had been crushed in the front yard. The man allegedly attempted to strangle his wife during the argument.
The man’s girlfriend, 21, was present during the argument, Kellams said. She drove the man away after the argument.
The wife told police her husband had obstructed her airway, though Kellams said police reported no visible injuries. She told police she plans to press charges.
If charged, the man will face an arrest for domestic battery and strangulation,
Kellams said.
