Suspect in 2004 child molestation case arrested 7 years later

Today, a girl who is nearly an adult must relive violence committed against her when she was 10 years old.

The victim was allegedly molested by Gary Curtis, 66, her now-deceased grandmother's former husband.

Curtis was arrested in 2011, Bloomington Police Department Lt. Bill Parker said.
After her grandmother passed away last fall, the victim told her family the abuse had occurred in July 2004.

Due to the victim’s age, Curtis will be charged with a class A felony, Parker said.
Curtis has been in and out of the court since last year because of the case. His next pretrial conference will be April 2.
