An 18-year-old female student was allegedly raped by a male acquaintance Sunday, IU Police Department Chief Keith Cash said.
The suspect was staying with the victim in her residence at Campus View Apartments, Cash said. The victim was asleep when the suspect allegedly raped her.
The suspect, who is 19, is not an IU student, Cash said.
The victim reported the crime Tuesday, and the case is currently active.
