Police respond to alleged shooter

Police responded to a call from a resident at about 1 a.m. Wednesday near Wapehani Hills Apartments and Wapehani Mountain Bike Park on the south side of
Bloomington.

The caller reported shots fired in the area, Bloomington Police Department Lt. Bill Parker said.

Police found shell casings just north of the park, Parker said. The police report also mentioned that a silver vehicle was seen leaving the gravel parking lot outside the park.

What police did not find, however, was what an individual might have been shooting at, Parker said. No animals or targets were found in the area.

Police are still searching for the shooter, as discharging a firearm within city limits is a crime. They currently have no suspect, Parker said.

Individuals with information about a possible suspect are encouraged to call the police department at 812-339-4477.
