Missing person reported by mother

Michael Hokanson, 19, was reported missing by his mother, Michelina Hokanson, 54, Monday, said Lt. Bill Parker of the Bloomington Police Department.

Michael had visited his mother during Christmas, but Michelina had not heard from him since, causing her concern, Parker said.

Michelina told police Michael may have gone to New York, where some of his friends live.
“He has several addresses listed,” Parker said. “His mother’s and then others in Bloomington.”

Parker said police are currently checking if Michael simply left the state without informing anyone.

“There’s no indication that there’s anything wrong at this point,” Parker said. “(Michelina) didn’t give any indicators.”
