Falling face-first in a winter wonderland

jigsaw

Most Christmas albums stick to the usual Christmas hits and themes, and they typically all end up being at least OK. The Jigsaw Seen’s new album, “Winterland," breaks this trend.

It seems that The Jigsaw Seen tried to use the traditional Christmas album idea to get people’s attention and then get their own message across, and it all goes wrong. The album title, artwork and many of the song names make you think that it cannot be too terrible, but it is.

On some tracks, it feels as if they are trying to make a mockery of Christmas, and get a laugh or two, but there is nothing there. Beyond the lyrics, the album lacks even a catchy beat or rhythm.

Do yourself a favor this Christmas season and skip “Winterland” completely.
