'Beware' of falling asleep

caveman

Caveman, a recently established indie band from Brooklyn, produces music that can be described as “nice” or “chill,” like the type of music you want to listen to when you are relaxing on the beach or want to slip into a coma.

Long story short, this album is a form of a sleep aid. This album’s redundancy makes every song sounds the same and puts the listener into a prison if they are concerned with the quality of the music.

The album starts off promising, beginning with “A Country’s King of Dreams,” a song that partners singer/guitarist Matthew Iwanusa’s intoxicating vocals with the beautiful gloom of the instruments. But then the next song and the next song sound exactly the same. Track by track the rhythm and texture became predictable and make you chase some Zs.

All in all, it is a mediocre album, but a good effort for a young band. They’ve got time to learn a few things, like how to write some songs that have contrast in each other.
