A Bloomington man was arrested Friday after a night of drinking led to a hospital visit that ended with the man allegedly threatening and spitting on a security officer.
Passing motorists found Joshua Miller, 21, passed out on a sidewalk at about 2 a.m. near the intersection of Second and Walnut streets, said Lt. Faron Lake of the Bloomington Police Department.
The motorists then flagged down BPD officers, who approached Miller and discovered he was intoxicated, Lake said. Miller told the officers he had been at Kilroy’s Bar and Grill on Kirkwood Avenue.
Because of his level of intoxication, Miller was transported to the emergency room at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. While there, he became combative, Lake said.
He began screaming, yelling and threatening security officers and hospital personal. He then spat on a security officer, Lake said.
Miller was arrested and faces preliminary charges of public intoxication, intimidation, battery and battery by body waste.
