The Monroe County Public Library was closed for more than an hour Friday due to a bomb threat.
Library director Sara Laughlin said a threat was reported at about noon and library staff evacuated the building and searched the premises with the help of the Bloomington Fire Department and Bloomington Police Department.
"You don't realize how many nooks and crannies there are in here," Laughlin said.
Foot traffic was redirected around the library at the request of BFD. Library staff kept people from walking next to the building until 1:30 p.m. when the library was reopened.
