Bus schedules

Campus Bus Service
There will be no service on move-in day, Wednesday.
The Welcome Week schedule starts Thursday.
The IU campus bus service will return to its normal fall route schedule Sunday.

Bloomington Transit
Bloomington Transit is operating on reduced schedules for IU-related routes through Saturday.
Summer routes can be found at www.bloomingtontransit.com/6_and_9_Route_Summer_2010.htm.
Fall schedules begin Sunday. Full route listings can be found at www.bloomingtontransit.com/Maps.htm.

Dining Halls
Dining halls are operating on special hours Wednesday through Sunday. For a full listing, visit rps.indiana.edu/aug2011dininghours.cfml.
Regular hours resume Monday and can be found at www.rps.indiana.edu/menushours.cfml.

HPER and SRSC
The HPER basketball courts, indoor track, strength and conditioning and other facilities will be closed indefinitely due to a summer fire.
The SRSC and other HPER facilities are operating on summer hours until Saturday. Summer hours can be found at www.iurecsports.org/summer_facility_hours.
Fall facility hours start Sunday and can be found at  www.iurecsports.org/facility_hours.

Welcome Week

Freshman Induction Ceremony and picnic
2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday at the IU Auditorium
Come be officially welcomed into the freshman class by people like President Michael McRobbie and Provost Karen Hanson. Immediately afterward, stop by the induction picnic behind Woodburn Hall. Visit   indiana.edu/~induct/invitation.shtml to RSVP.

CultureFest
4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the IU Auditorium
CultureFest is a highlight of Welcome Week. After an indoor program, students receive free food vouchers for dozens of cultural food booths. There are also henna tattoos, live music and opportunities to get involved. This is one you don’t want to miss. And trust us, free food is your new best friend.

pLay iT uP: Game Night @ the Wells Library
8 to 11 p.m. Thursday
Not sure what to do at night? This event allows you to play in the library and meet new people before you have to hit the books.

Safety at IU
11 a.m. Friday in
Woodburn Hall
It’s important to protect yourself on campus, and this new event this year will show you how. Get tips from IUPD about how to have fun and be safe and learn what could happen if you aren’t. Afterward, learn more about drinking and drugs in college at the Sex, Drugs and Rock ’n’ Roll open house from noon to 3 p.m. at Showalter Fountain.

RecFest
1 to 3 p.m. Friday at
Woodlawn Field
This outdoor, active event shows you all the opportunities to get involved with IU Recreational Sports.

Traditions and Spirit of IU
4:30 p.m. Friday
Come with your floor or friends to get the real scoop on what IU spirit is all about at Assembly Hall. You’ll hear from IU coaches and learn all the popular cheers and chants before the first game.

Taste of the Union
6 p.m. Friday
The huge Indiana Memorial Union will be stuffed with things to do ranging from a rock wall, karaoke, bowling and — yes — free food. You’ll also get the chance to explore the different floors of the Union and all the services it offers before the first day of classes.
