Not your 'Norm'al routine

wk_realnorm

There’s a common saying of mothers everywhere that states, “If you keep making that face, it’s going to get stuck like that.” Well, Norm Macdonald must have often made a such a devilish smirk because now it’s stuck and the comedy world is better for it.

In his perfectly titled new album “Me Doing Standup,” that smirk helps him to lightly discuss topics like death, serial murder, shameful sex and alcoholism.

His shtick comes off as a hilariously ignorant individual given a microphone and asked to speak to a crowd.

For example, when describing things, he never overtly calls them stupid or pointless. He simply says, “I don’t get it,” and from there begins the description from a naive point of view.

Additionally, he manages to explain in detail how he could murder a woman in cold blood without ever polarizing his audience or crossing into the realm of shock value.
The humor comes from his timing and delivery more than anything else. It’s not necessarily Norm’s jokes that are funny. Norm is just funny. Written down, these jokes aren’t nearly as entertaining, if humorous at all.

Anyone already a fan of Norm will surely enjoy the latest work. For anyone who has never heard his stand-up act, check out this album out if you want to hear something unique and fresh from an established comedian.
