Monroe County Fair starts today, lasts all week

The Monroe County Fair opens Saturday, July 23 and will last until next Saturday, July 30. The Fairgrounds are located at 5700 W. Airport Road.

Armbands can be purchased at the Fair for $9. Some events charge extra, but many events are free.

Here’s some highlights of events during the next few days at the Fair:

SATURDAY, JULY 23

7 p.m. — NTPATruck/Tractor Pull at Grandstand. Adults $7, children 12 and under $5.
7:30 p.m. — Queen Contest at Draper-Earles Auditorium. Adults $7,  children 12 and under $5.

SUNDAY, JULY 24 — Family Day

9 a.m. — 4H Beef Showmanship Contest. Livestock Arena
Noon — 4H Dairy, Pygmy, Boer and Mini Goat Show at the Livestock Arena
1 p.m. — 4H Style Show at Draper-Earles Auditorium
5-6 p.m. — Vesper Service at Draper-Earles Auditorium
6-7 p.m. — Garrett Godsey, a Christian music artist, performs at the Shelby County LB Gas Free Stage
7 p.m. — Marty Barrow Family Gospel Sing performs at Draper-Earles Auditorium
7:30 p.m. — Family Fun Night at Grandstand. $3 per person
7:30 p.m. — Garrett Godsey to perform at the Farm Bureau Insurance Free Stage

MONDAY, JULY 25 — Super Monday ($7 armbands until 4 p.m.)


10 a.m. — 4H Horse and Pony English Classes located in the  Horse and Pony Arena
1-4 p.m. — Kid’s Crafts Show at the Kid’s Big Top
2 p.m. — 4H Swine Breeding Show located in the Livestock Arena
4 p.m. — $9 armbands available
6 p.m. — Pedal Tractor Pull at the Kid’s Big Top
6:30 p.m. — Demonstration Garden Walking Tour at the Community Buidling
7 p.m. — AMVETS Karaoke. Shelby County LB Gas Free Stage
7:30 p.m. — Scott Greeson and the Touble with Monday band to perform at Draper-Earles Auditorium
7:30 p.m. — Smooth Country/Mike’s Dance Band to perform on the Farm Bureau Insurance Free Stage
7:30 p.m. — 4-Wheeler Races at the Grandstand
