The Wildermuth Intramural Center of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building will be closed from May 9 to Aug. 15 as the building’s roof undergoes repairs.
The HPER will be open with limited hours during the week. The doors to the Wildermuth Center — on the south side — will not be open during this time, except the west doors leading to the academic and Campus Recreational Sports offices.
Spaces that will be closed include the following: the fieldhouse with its track and 10 basketball courts, strength and conditioning rooms, racquetball courts — including the Dance Space on Court 6, the martial arts studio, the upstairs gymnasium, Pool 194, the Dick Enberg distance education classroom, the main level men’s and women’s locker and shower rooms and the equipment room.
Students will have limited access to spaces for tennis, basketball, swimming, group exercise, yoga and Pilates during the summer. Limited access spaces include the Royer Pool, Gymnasium 163, Gymnasium 171 for scheduled fitness and wellness programming and the lower level men’s and women’s locker rooms. Equipment and towel check-out has been relocated to 008G adjacent to the women’s locker room, and the member services suite has been relocated to the foyer mail room.
The Student Recreational Sports Center will not undergo renovations during the summer.
Both the HPER and the SRSC will offer limited hours for Memorial Day on Monday, May 30 and for Independence Day on Monday, July 4.
